supervisor training & employee education

Employee education programming on the dangers and effects of substance abuse and how it effects their personal lives, family, workplace and community provides a valuable tool to improve awareness, productivity and safety in the workplace. Employee education is required for Federal Transit Administration (FTA) regulated employees and highly recommended for all DOT regulated companies.  Supervisor training to detect and handle substance use and abuse in the workplace is required for DOT supervisors in all transportation modes and agencies. Carolina Testing offers live, interactive and engaging programs in one to one sessions or in groups with 100 or more attendees.

train

supervisor training

DOT regulations require all supervisors to be trained to detect and address substance use and abuse in the workplace. The purpose of this training is to teach supervisors to identify circumstances and indicators that may create reasonable suspicion that an employee is using or under the influence of alcohol or drugs, supporting referral of an employee for testing.  This training requires a minimum of 60 minutes of training on the symptoms of alcohol abuse and 60 minutes of training on the symptoms of controlled substance use and abuse for a total of 120 minutes.

comply

designated employer representative (der) training

DOT regulations require that company’s drug and alcohol testing program be managed by a company representative identified as a Designated Employer Representative (DER).  The DER is solely responsible for making sure that all drug and alcohol testing is performed by the company in compliance with DOT regulations. This training teaches a DER what there responsibilities are under 49 CFR Part 40 and how to best address typical scenarios in the workplace.
